Description
  • It has been known that exists a multi-layer relation between on-Earth and cosmic processes, last time described as Space Weather. Radiation situation in the near-Earth surroundings is also modified due to space weather changes. Due to them, the level of exposure to cosmic radiation can vary, particularly onboard spacecraft, but also onboard aircraft, in low extent also on Earth surface. The goal of this project is to acquire complex data and knowledge on quantitative and qualitative extent of these variations, including theirs consequences for radiation protection. For that, we propose to study and analyse changes of dosimetric and microdosimetric characteristics of onboard space- and air-craft radiation fields, and on high-mountains observatories. Experimental methods developed, used and upgraded at DRD NPI ASCR will be used; measured results will be complemented with theoretical calculations. Proposed complex study will be possible due to existing and extensive international collaboration in this topic. (en)
