Description	This project is a continuation of previously funded studies on cuticles of Permo-Carboniferous pteridosperm and cordaite cuticles. Although over 100 species of Upper Carboniferous and Permian pteridosperms have been described from the Bohemian Massif, only 35 species are known to have preserved cuticles. Four morphological species of Cordaites have been described in the literature from the Bohemian Massif, whereas 37 species of cordaite- cuticule morphotypes have been described from the same stratigraphic interval. The proposed project will focus on pollen grains and cuticles recovered from cordaite and pteridosperm fructifications, which will allow for the reconstruction of whole plants and an understanding of their biology. The study of the cuticles from cordaites holotypes known from France, Germany, and Poland will help in the identification of some Bohemian cordaites cuticular morphotypes, at least. Cuticles of cordaites and pteridosperms have been studied intensively, recently, and (en) Projekt je pokračováním studia kutikul pteridosperm a kordaitů. Z Českého masívu bylo uvedeno přes 100 druhů svrchnokarbonských a permských pteridosperm, avšak pouze od 35 druhů jsou známy kutikuly. Naproti tomu jen 4 druhy kordaitových listů jsou uváděny z Českého masívu, zatímco jejich kutikulárních morfotypů bylo popsáno 37. V projektu se počítá také se studiem pylových zrn a kutikul fruktifikací kordaitů a případně pteridosperm. Tyto studie umožní vytvořit rekonstrukce celých rostlin. Studium kutikul holotypů kordaitů ve Francii a v Polsku umožní provést identifikaci alespoň části kutikulárních morfotypů Českého masívu s již popsanými druhy. Kutikuly pteridosperm a kordaitů jsou v současné době intenzívně studovány a jejich morfologické znakyse uplatňují při systematických studiích. Tyto rostliny byly důležitou součástí pozdněkarbonských tropických deštných pralesů a vyřešení jejich systematické příslušnosti je mnohdy klíčové pro paleoekologické interpretace jejich výskytu v Času a prostoru.
