Description	The study consists in the scientific determination and practical use of geoinformation bases on the regional (territory of new regions) and urban levels (cities) for the preparation of regional atlases and atlases of cities in the CR. Main attention is paid to particular principal components and factors of the natural and socio-economic environment, their spatial functioning and assessing interrelations. In compiling maps of particular thematic fields stress will be laid the maps to reflect the presentlevel of knowledge in partial scientific disciplines (e.g. climatology, demography etc.).The created conception and content of the atlas will allow departmental bodies to decide more effectively on the basis of recent scientific findings on the regional and national levels. The project will be dealt with in 2004 - 2006. Elaboration of methods, their cartographic interpretation and evaluation will prepare conditions for narrow collaboration with regional and local authorities and verify possibilities for (en) Základem řešení bude vědecké vymezení a praktické sestavení a využití geoinformačních databází na regionální úrovni (území nových krajů) a městské úrovni (velká města) pro tvorbu regionálních atlasů a atlasů velkých měst v ČR. Hlavní pozornost je zaměřena na jednotlivé hlavní složky a faktory přírodního a socioekonomického prostředí, jejich prostorové fungování a hodnocení vztahů mezi nimi. Při sestavování map jednotlivých tematických okruhů bude kladen důraz, aby byly odrazem současného stavu poznání dílčích vědních disciplín(např.klimatologie, demografie atd.) a vytvořená koncepce a obsah atlasu umožní resortním orgánům účinněji rozhodovat na základě nejnovějších vědeckých poznatků na regionální i národní úrovni. Projekt bude řešen v průběhu2004-2006. Výsledek bude odrážet moderní přístupy a skutečnosti, dané věcně (vývojové změny, transformace společnosti a ekonomiky, nový pohled na člověka a společnost) koncepčně a technologicky (geoinformatika a počítačová kartografie).
