| Description
| - The pharmaceutical industry produces around 3000 active substances, and the consumption of pharmaceuticals is ever increasing. Consuming them, a part passes through the organism either unchanged or in a metabolized form and gets into waste water, and consequently into surface water, of which some serve as sources of drinking water. As present drinking water treatment processes are not able to remove those substances effectively, in the literature there have been appearing ever more often reports of pharmaceuticals being found in drinking water. In several pharmaceutical hormone products even very low environmental levels have proven to be effective. In the Czech Republic the occurrence of pharmaceuticals in drinking water has not been under follow-up as yet. In the project there shall be validated analytical methods for the determination of selected pharmaceuticals, and carried out a screening of their occurrence in drinking waters, a calculation of exposure and an assessment of health risks, and drawn up a communication on those risks for the public. - Validovat analytickou metodu pro stanovení vybraných léčiv a provést screening jejich výskytu v pitných vodách v ČR. Dále vypočítat expozici a zhodnotit související zdravotní rizika, připravit odborně podloženou komunikaci rizika pro veřejnost a v případě nevyhovující situace připravit návrh řešení.
