Description	The proposed five year project of basic research is focused on the following three areas of contemporary algebra:(i) The structure of projective and tilting modules over associative rings, and their applications.(ii) Algebraic representations of lattices.(iii) The Constraint Satisfaction Problem and algebras of polymorphisms.The research will continue ongoing collaboration of the applicants with algebra centers at the Universities of Barcelona, Caen, and Padova, supported recently by the German-Isreali Foundation, for example, and resulting in papers in distinguished mathematical journals (Trans.Amer.Math.Soc., Bull.London Math.Soc. et al.).The research will make use of representation theoretic, homological and universal algebraic methods, and of the methods of logic and combinatorics. Besides a series of research papers and lectures at international conferences, it will contribute to graduate education at Fac.Math.Phys.of Charles University in Prague. (en) Předkládaný pětiletý projekt základního výzkumu je zaměřen na tři aktuální témata současné algebry: (i) Strukturu projektivních a vychylujících modulů nad asociativními okruhy a jejich aplikace. (ii) Algebraické reprezentace svazů. (iii) Problém splňování omezení (CSP) a algebry polymorfismů. Výzkum bezprostředně naváže na probíhající mezinárodní spolupráci navrhovatelů s algebraickými centry na univerzitách v Barceloně, Caen a Padově, podporovanou v nedávné době mj. German-Israeli Foundation, jejíž výsledky byly publikovány např. v Trans.Amer.Math.Soc. a Bull.London Math.Soc. Výzkum bude založen na metodách teorie reprezentací, homologické a univerzální algebry, logiky a kombinatoriky. Kromě řady publikací a přednášek na mezinárodních konferencích přispěje projekt také k výchově doktorandů na MFF UK.

Část projektu týkající se reprezentací svazů a polosvazů nevedla k podstatným výsledkům a byla v průběhu řešení změněna. (cs) The main goal of the project has been reached - the theory of projective representations and their generalizations to locally free representations, tilting modules, and the roots of the Ext functor. On the other hand, the part devoted to the representations of lattices and semilattices did not lead to essential results and it was changed to another promising topic. (en)
