Description
  • In the grant project the ensembles of ultra-small nano-particles (NPs) of transition metals (Co, Ni, Ag and Au) will be fabricated on oxide substrates (MgO, SiO2 and Al2O3) using advanced physical deposition methods. A series of experiments will be performed to evaluate the correlation between the deposition kinetics (deposition rate, deposition time, substrate temperature, etc.) and the NPs' structural parameters (i.e., size, shape and geometrical arrangement). Besides the structural parameters of NPs, it will also be possible to optimize important (catalytic, magnetic and optical) properties of the synthesized nano-objects. It is supposed that analysis of the inspected physico-chemical processes of the NPs' controlled nucleation, growth and distribution may lead to new technology for the fabrication of novel functional materials.
