Description
  • Project will be devoted to research of new electrochemical methods suitable for hydrogen storage in magnesium alloys containing nickel, aluminium, copper, titanium and others. The methods will produce metallic hydrides that are prospective source of hydrogen for mobile applications, transportation etc. Electrochemical methods consist in electrochemical hydriding where a saturated Mg alloy is cathode and an inert material anode. Our study will be aimed to find suitable saturation conditions, such as electrolyte composition, temperature, time, cathode composition, type and shape, cathode-anode potential etc. Study of a series of electrochemically saturated Mg-based alloys will enable to define the most appropriate materials for hydride preparation. Another result of the proposed project will be description of hydride behaviour during decomposition associated with hydrogen evolution, that is important for practical applications. (en)
  • Hlavními cíly projektu je nalézt slitiny hořčíku, které jsou vhodné pro elektrochemické sycení vodíkem, a pro tyto slitiny optimalizovat metody sycení. Vhodné slitiny by měly vykazovat dostatečnou absorpční kapacitu vodíku a příznivou kinetiku absorbce a desorbce.
