The effective handling of substantial funds invested in construction and maintenance of the state road system requires application of advanced pavement management systems. These systems are based on processing of information about what is happening in a concrete pavement system under vehicle loading with changing temperature and other environmental conditions and with progressive degradation of pavement system components. It is, therefore, necessary to elaborate an advanced computer model of concrete pavement behavior based on finite element method analysis of the representative group of slabs that are working together (having joints reinforced by dowels and tie bars) in transferring vehicle loads into the pavement supporting system. The information provided by the computer model is necessary for concrete pavement design optimization (all the components of the pavement system requiring proper structural analysis), for advanced analysis of pavement diagnostics measurement data and for possible pavement reconstruction design. Cílem je vypracovat moderní postupy optimalizace návrhu novostaveb, oprav a rekonstrukcí cementobetonových vozovek, založené na jejich počítačovém a experimentálním modelování se zaměřením na uplatnění výstižnějších modelů únavového působení desek vozovky a výstižnějšího modelu dopravního zatížení.
