| - The aim of the project is to specify the effects of temperature and moisture gradients on life cycle of buildings and bridges.Its main focus is on processing and subsequent modification of existing theories on heat and mass transport so that they may be practically applied to bridge constructions in particular.The starting point - existing data sets of measurements of standard constructions coming from the applicant's previous research - will be updated, while, at the same time, retroaction of these effects will be traced on the basis of meteorological data available.In the conceptual and methodological area, in particular, we would like to extend the measurements of temperature and moisture fields, implemented by the grant project applicant CTU in Prague on Charles Bridge in Prague during the period 1987 - 1990, thus advancing the measurement methodology problems to an area comparable with renowned European research centres.The grant project's output will consist in formulation of general conclusions in the area of forecasting the service life of building and bridge constructions allowing us to design methods how to extend it, which will necessarily bring in considerable economic benefits. - Cílem projektu je stanovení účinků teplotních a vlhkostních gradientů na celoživotní cyklus budov a mostů a výsledky zapojit do teorií pro transport tepla a vlhkosti. Hlavním úkolem bude aplikovat vědeckovýzkumné výsledky projektu v rámci probíhající opravy Karlova mostu v letech 2008 - 2010.
