  • The development of a VVER spent fuel cask design based on the burnup credit implementation is being made. The enormously conservative reactivity margin (mainly connected with a deeper burnup of the fuel used nowadays and in the future) can be converted into a material and capacity improvement or a possibility of inserting spent fuel with a higher initial enrichment. It should result in a better effectiveness and competitiveness of the cask design. (en)
