Description	The objective of the proposed project is to compare estimates of breeding values (EBV´s) in thoroughbred sires using various criteria describing performance of thoroughbred horse. The most suitable method of breeding value estimation will be used to assess tendencies of improvement of the thoroughbred population in the Czech Republic. For this reason, output of racing seasons 1987 - 1996 will be evaluated. Data file will be made of progeny of sires having at least 7 offspring in racing during the test seasons. Database will be sorted by the three criteria describing performance of thoroughbred population: - general handicap by years - number of starts, victories, ranking and sum of prices received - individual prformance indices based on number of starts and prices received. Coefficient of heritability of performance will be estimated using multiple factor analysis of variance with the above criteria. The estimate will be used to obtain EBV´s in thoroughbred sires with BLUP. Results will be used to pr (en) Cílem navrhovaného projektu je porovnat odhad plemenné hodnoty plnokrevných plemeníků při použití různých kriterií charakterizujících výkonnost anglického plnokrevníka a nejvhodnější z metod odhadu plemenné hodnoty využít k charakteristice vývojové tendence populace anglického plnokrevníka v České republice. K tomuto účelu budou prověřeny výsledky dostihových sezón 1987 - 1996. Soubor dat bude sestaven z potomstva těch plemeníků, kteří měli v uvedeném období minimální počet 7 potomků na dostihové dráze.Databáze bude tříděna podle tří kritérií charakterizujících výkonnost anglického plnokrevníka: - generální handicap příslušných ročníků, - počet startů, vítězství, umístění a sum získaných dotací, - individuální výkonnostní indexy vypočtené z počtu s tartů a získaných dotací. Vícefaktorovou analýzou rozptylu bude stanoven koeficient dědivosti výkonnosti při použití výše uvedených kriterií. Ten bude sloužit k odhadu plemenné hodnoty plnokrevných plemeníků metodou BLUP.
