Description
  • Scientific and technical objectives: Improvement of pot lifes and particle sizes of coating sols for both in-situ polymerisation and redispersion routes. Scaled up monomer and coating sol production through environmentally friendly and resource-effective processes including eco-toxicological assessment. Establishment of a previously developed colour modification concept based on electrochromic redox dyes to obtain neutral tints. Decrease of transparent electrode resistence. By TCO codoping and adaptation of deposition parameters to shorten response times and increase stability in large size devices. Use of a novel preparation to obtain highly dense targets using specific additives (previous patent). Employment of economically viable continuous industrial coating processes for: Electrochromic nanocomposite material with neutral tint (reduced state) and 90 % VIS transmittance. Pseudotransparent or complementary colouring ion storage layers based on nanoscale sol gel materials, Prussian Blue colloids, and chromilium xantilium salts, respectively, with high capacity. Solid polymer electrolytes to be manufactured in continuous processes, in particular for devices that will have to be post processed mechanically; Low Tg hydrophobic polymer ionic liquid electrolytes processable by high throughput industrial coating technology for devices requiring a high stability against moisture or a low operating temperature. Nanoscale functional (conductive) oxide films deposited onto plastic foils and sheets to create high performance TCO plastic pairings. Design and construction of universal and modular coating lines for the application of the developed large scale coating solutions. Modelling to design and predict processes and production lines. Adaptation to the requirements in terms of viscosity and rheology of the coating solutions, type of application and method of curing (IR, DT or UV curing). (en)
