Description
  • The results of this JRP will provide a base for a significant improvement of precision angle measuring devices and of their practical applications in industry and research. They will enable National Metrology Institutes (NMIs) to perform calibrations of angle measuring devices with uncertainties less than 50 nrad which are traceable to improved primary angle standards and to provide them to stakeholders. Good practice guides will be developed for the calibration of autocollimators and angle encoders. Two unfunded industrial stakeholders and one research organisation will cooperate with NMIs to find solutions to challenging problems in applied angle metrology. Two advanced NMIs outside of EURAMET will share their experience with the JRP-Consortium as unfunded JRP-Partners and one Organisation REG from the synchrotron radiation / FEL community will work on the application side and provide feedback. The industrial stakeholders will test the methods developed in the JRP. Additionally, stakeholder workshops will be held to disseminate the JRP output to the target user community, and a series of presentation and conferences will enable this JRP to reach beyond the metrological community.
