The objective of the proposed multidisciplinary project REK (REserve K) is soil science - geochemical - agricultural research of potassium (K) cycle in our agricultural soils in conditions of permanent negative nutrient balance within cereal agrosystems. Low input of K into agricultural soils by mineral fertilizers compensates insufficiently the output by crops. Thus, K releases from soil supplies (reserve K fixed in fylosilicates, weathering of K feldspars and other soil mineral constituents). However, these soil sources are exhaustible and loss of K availabilness rate can occure after long-term intensive uptake by crops. The ambition of the project is to explore and quantify these soil sources, to evaluate trends of their exploatation and to propose sustainable management of soils limited by the risk of K availability loss. Cílem projektu REK je vyhodnotit stav, vývojové trendy a limitní hodnoty rezerv půdního draslíku v obilnářských systémech a stanovit kritéria a opatření proti náchylnosti půd na kritický pokles jeho zpřístupňování. (cs)
