Description
  • Within the conducted project, original and priority knowledge about a gene structure for selected oxidoreductases (polyphenoloxidases) in barley on a level of DNA sequences and/or their allelic forms in the barley collection with characterized traits and properties will be obtained. Then, sets of diagnostic primers for detection of diversity in examined genes will be designed and verified that are required for genotyping and selection of gene resources. Furthermore, methods for quantitative assessment of expression of the examined genes using qRT-PCR on barley grain and plants will be proposed and applied. A special collection of gene resources with characterized traits and selected properties (agronomic, nutritional and malting) affecting production quality and use will be created. (en)
