(cs)
The purpose of the project is to extend knowledge of interactions between salmonellas and pigs with the aim to apply the obtained knowledge to control salmonella infection in pig herds. Results obtained within partial targets - identification of prevalent strain of Salmonella enterica subsp. enterica serovar Derby in Czech pig herds, - development of interferon test for detection of cell-mediated immunity against salmonellosis, - characterisation of quality and quantity of pig immune response to salmonella infection, - characterisation of response of selected immune system cell populations to salmonella infection in vitro, - preparation of deletion mutant (delta sodCI, delta spv) of salmonella Typhimurium and his comparison with a wild strain of Salmonella enterica subsp. enterica serovar Derby, - defined role of colostral and lactogenic immunity in piglet protection from infection will be used for establishment of theoretical preconditions of successful course of salmonella eradication from pig her (en)
