Description	A model of acute alcohol intoxication will be applied in rats and guinea pigs. The extent of oxidative injury of body tissues and of subcellular organelles and the modifications of antioxidant defense system will be assessed. In parallel, an antioxidant (vitamin C and E, beta-carotene, selenium) will be supplied and its function in alcohol metabolism will be tested. (en) V pokusech na morčatech a potkanech bude aplikován model akutní nebo chronické alkoholové intoxikace. Bude studována povaha a intenzita oxidačního poškození organismu, zejména mitochondrií a mikrosomů a změny antioxidačního potenciálu. V paralelních experimentech bude preventivně aplikován antioxidant (vitaminy C a E, beta-karoten, selen) a bude studována jeho funkce v metabolismu etanolu. (cs)
