  • Cílem projektu je zkoumat jak závisí některé funkce biologických membrán na jejich architektuře a jejich fyzikálně chemických vlastnostech. Výzkum se soustředí na thylakoidní membrány chloroplastů a plasmové membrány savčích buněk. U obou těchto systémů dochází k rozsáhlým změnám ve vlastnostech membrány. Jednotlivé děje budem studovat na těchto úrovních: Celé membrány in vivo a v isolovaném stavu, membránové frakce, komplexy membránových bílkovin, membránové lipidy. Bude se rozvíjet řada moderních metod, z nichž některé dosud nebyly v naší republice zavedeny. (cs)
  • Target of the project is to examine how certain function of biological membranes depends on interactions of their components, their architecture and physico-chemical properties. Research will be centered on thylakoid membranes of chloroplasts and plasmamembranes of mammalian cells. In both systems the regulation of membrane fuction is accompanied by large changes in membrane structure. It is possible to follow changes in conformation of membrane proteins, quarternary structure of proteins interactions between proteins and other components of the membrane, changes in the structure of the membrane and membrane function. Studies will be performed on following levels: whole membranes in vivo and in isolated state, membrane fractions, mainly domains, complexes of membrane proteins and individual proteins composing complexes. The target of the research has pedagogical value because it employs multidisciplinary research and number of the methods has not been used in this country. (en)
