Cílem tohoto projektu Euréka SMATECH je komplexně vypracovat technologii výroby i souvisejících manipulačních procesů těchto mechanických spojek optických vláken. (cs)
The object of this Eureka project is to develop a system allowing the micro machining of a mechanical splice using the properties of shape memory alloys (SMA). Means of micro-machining need the largest precision which for the time being cannot be achieved with the equipment found on the market. Two main technological developments will be achieved during the EUREKA project: a femtosecond laser, and positioning and displacement equipment. The most important improvement of the femtosecond lasers (some progress is also necessary in the case of the other type of lasers, the nanosecond ones, are necessary but will not be treated in this project), comparatively to the ones on the market, is the unique association of high power, reliability and stability at high level of pulse energy for micromachining mass production. A high accuracy positioning and displacement stage has to be developed in order to reach the required accuracy and repeatability for the mass production of the SMA connector and for the las (en)
