Cílem projektu je přispět k poznání životního cyklu nových retardátorů hoření. Znalosti toxikologických a environmentálních aspektů nových retardátorů hoření pomohou zvýšit ochranu zdraví lidí i životního prostředí. (cs)
The project will be focused on a toxicity of novel flame retardants. The risks of using FRs in consumer products, i.e. textiles and related products will be studied from a point of bioavailability, degradability and toxicity of the FRs and their degradation products. More information, especially regarding to their toxicological profile, is definitely required to define the fate and transport characteristics of these novel FRs. It was reported that FRs are resistant and some of them have been found in the Arctic due to a long-range atmospheric transport. Another important source of FRs is their leaching from textile despite frequent laundering. The FRs can enter the environment via waste water. Therefore, we will focus on ecotoxicity of FRs (i.e. seedlings growth test, root development, stress responces). Degradation processes of FRs in plants will be also investigated. (en)
