The aim of the project is development of a suitable adaptive method for the numerical simulation of the flow in porous media. The flow is described by Richards equation which will be discretized by Raviart-Thomas elements. An adaptive method inspirated by the domain decomposition method used in parallel computing will be sudied on a one-dimensional domain. Moreover, suitable error estimators will be investigated. The robustness and efficiancy of the method with respect to different constitutive relations and material parameters will be accented. The next aim of the project is development of a program for simulation of the flow on a 3d domain. (en)
