Description
  • Due to the significant progress in development of power semiconductors scientific community is increasingly focusing on current power converters for high power systems in particular.This project is focused on problems of new traction current converters, their control algorithms and behavior under operating conditions. With respect to this, problems of single phase active current - source rectifier in common and reversible topology (4 quadrant converter) and full traction current converter will be solved. Each converter will be built as a laboratory prototype including control part. This way we will be able to provide complete experimental study of all converters and analysis of their behavior in both steady states and during transitions specific for traction applications. Results of the project will enable to provide skilled features and behavior qualification of these converters and their comparison with voltage equivalent. Besides, these results can be very well employed in following phase of application development which should lead to industrial employment. (en)
