Description
  • Optical time domain reflectometry is a method for optical link diagnostics, where optical link is a system of optical fibers, connectors, splitters and other fiber optics elements. The principle of this method is a time-resolved detection of echoes of short laser pulse injected into optical fiber. The core of whole measurement setup is a detector that must be able to single photon counting with necessary temporal resolution. Available or developed commercial systems based on silicon avalanche photodiode are limited by silicon absorption spectrum that induce multimode optical fiber using at wavelength around 820 nm. The goal of proposed project is a construction of laboratory sample of reflectometer with millimeter spatial resolution based on silicon avalanche photodiode and based on single photon detector for near infrared - it is the result of grant supported by GAER 102/00/0820 in 2000-2002. Cˇlem navrhovan‚ho projektu je konstrukce laboratornˇho vzorku reflektometru s milimetrověm rozliçenˇm pod‚l vl kna jednak s kýemˇkověm detektorem a i s detektorem jednotlivěch foton… v blˇzk‚ infraźerven‚ oblasti, kterě je věsledkem grantu GA ¬R 102/00/0820, ýeçen‚ho v letech 2000-2002.
