Description	The study as a whole will describe the development of relation between sculpture and architecture within the city of Ostrava in the 20th century. It will consider both the villages separated in the past which successively joined the city, and new neighbourhoods spreading the city area during the 20th century. From the time point of view the paper will involve the end of the 19th century because of the beginning of strong building boom in Ostrava. The research of sculpture and architectonic structures as well as the research of plastic art in free space or that one surrounded by buildings will try to answer common questions: in which way architects and sculptors were working together, which part of their compositions was dominant and why according to artistic, historical and social conditions in certain time. The index of the most important plastic works and the one of sculptor portraits will be the other sections of the study. (en) V úhrnu zachytí text vývoj vztahu sochařského díla a architektury, jak se utvářel v průběhu celého 20. století na území velké Ostravy. Kromě historického centra zahrne jednak postupně připojované dříve samostatné obce, které se vyvíjely vzájemně nezávisle na sobě, ale z urbanistického hlediska závisle na svém hospodářském a sociálním charakteru, jednak nová sídliště, která po 2. světové válce rozšiřovala intravilán města. Z časového hlediska tento záběr přirozeně zasáhne ještě konec 19. století,kdy se Ostrava začala hekticky rozvíjet jako průmyslové velkoměsto. Průzkum hmotných artefaktů - plastiky komponované v přímé součinnosti s architekturou i plastiky, která sama utváří městský prostor - vyústí v zobecnění konkrétních poznatků a odpoví na otázku, jak spolupracovali architekti a sochaři v prostorách města z hlediska dominace či subordinace architektonického a sochařského díla, co tyto vztahy utvářelo a podmiňovalo, jak byly svázány se zájmem investorů a podmíněny z historického a ideového (cs)
