| Description
| - The long-term investigation of vegetation of the southern part of Korean Peninsula is in progress. Many vegetation types and their ecology on the territory of North Korea were being studied in the Institute of Botany at Průhonice, Czech Republic, during last fifteen years. However, the knowledge of the vegetation survey of all the peninsula has been relatively poor. The proposed project would like to connect an effort of South Korean and Czech vegetation scientists to prepare, in particular, a survey ofdominant vegetation types of the whole peninsula. Therefore, the most substantial aims of the project are: a) the elaboration and unified classification of chosen vegetation types, i.e. comparison between northern and southern parts of the peninsula, b) the elaboration of a final survey of major vegetation units of North Korea, c) the classification of forest vegetation of North Korea and the comparison of forest syntaxa and types in northeastern Asia, especially in South Korea, d) latitudinal pattern (en)
- Dlouhodobě úspěšně probíhá výzkum vegetace jižní časti korejského poloostrova. Studiem některých vegetačních typů severní části poloostrova a jejich ekologii se v posledních zhruba patnácti letech zabývají především pracovníci Botanického ústavu AV ČR, Průhonice. Celkový přehled vegetace poloostrova však zatím není zpracován a dokončen. Předkládaný projekt tedy navrhuje řešit následující témata: a) vypracovat a sjednotit klasifikaci vybraných typů vegetace celého poloostrova, b) vypracovat přehled hlavních vegetačních jednotek pro severní Koreu, c) sestavit klasifikaci lesní vegetace severní časti poloostrova a porovnat nalezené typy lesů s přilehlými oblastmi severovýchodní Asie, a to především s jižní částí poloostrova, d) popsat variabilitu výškové zonace poloostrova podél gradientu zeměpisné šířky, e) studovat prostorovou a věkovou strukturu lesů s dominující Pinus densiflora a Quercus mongolica.
