| - "Dle modelových odhadů ""skleníkový"" efekt vyvolá významné změny jak v troposféře, tak v celé atmosféře i ionosféře. Poměr signál/šum je pro experimentální detekci skleníkového efektu příznivější ve vyšších vrstvách atmosféry. Proto se v devadesátýchj letech začlo rozvíjet studium dlouhodobých trendů v horní atmosféře a v r. 1999 byla k tomu vytvořena pracovní skupina IAGA/ICMA/SCOSTEP, kterou vede navrhovatel projektu Dr. Laštovička. Účelem projektu je i pomoci v činnosti této mezinárodní pracovní skupiny (Workshop Praha 2001, ""assessment"" poznatků o trendech). Hlavním cílem projektu je ale: (a) zlepšit poznání trendů, zvláště v dolní ionosféře a střední atmosféře, v F vrstvě ionosféry a v laminacích v profilu ozónu; (b) určit, která část pozorovaných trendů je přirozeného původu a která je vyvolána lidskou činností - současný stav poznání ukazuje, že jsou asi významně přítomny obě složky; (c) vytvořit prvý ""vertikální"" profil trendů od stratosféry do F2 vrstvy ionosféry." - "Model estimates of ""greenhouse"" effect reveal significant changes both in the troposphere and the whole atmosphere and ionosphere. The signal-to-noise ratio for detection of the greenhouse effect is better in the upper atmosphere. Therefore, investigations of long-term trends began to grow up in the 1990s and a joint IAGA/ICMA/SCOSTEP Working Group was established in 1999. The principal investigator, Dr. Laštovička, is its chairman. The purpose of the project is also to help with activities of this Working Group (Workshop Prague 2001, assesment of knowledge about trends). However, the main aims of the project are: (a) to improve knowledge of long-term trends, particularly in the lower ionosphere and middle atmosphere, in the ionosphere, in the ionospheric F.region, and in laminae in ozone profile; (b) to determine which part of the observed trends is of man-made and which of natural origin; (c) to create the first vertical profile of trends from the stratosphere to the F2 region."
