  • Boar spermadhesins (AQN, AWN, PSP) are proteins, originally isolated from seminal plasma and ejaculated spermatozoa, with various role in reproduction. Unlike AQN and AWN spermadhesins, localization of porcine seminal plasma (PSP) proteins in reproductive tract has not been completely resolved. This work is focused on PSP protein localization in the boar reproductive organs and on spermatozoa. Using specific polyclonal antibodies, PSP proteins were detected in cell extracts and in secretory tissues from cauda epididymis, prostate, seminal vesicles and Cowper´s glands. PSP proteins are able to bind the spermatozoa and were found on cauda epididymal and ejaculated spermatozoa. PSP protein production not only in seminal vesicles and prostate but also by the epididymis suggests a certain role in sperm epididymal maturation. Further characterization of seminal plasma protein forms expressed in the individual reproductive organs might help understand their subsequent role in the reproduction process

  • Kančí spermadhesiny (AQN, AWN, PSP) jsou proteiny původně izolované ze semenné plasmy a ejakulovaných spermií s rozmanitou úlohou v reprodukci. Na rozdíl od AQN a AWN spermadhesinů lokalizace PSP proteinů v kančím reprodukčním traktu nebyla zcela vyřešena. Tato práce je zaměřena na lokalizaci PSP proteinů v kančích reprodukčních orgánech a na spermiích. Pomocí specifických polyklonálních protilátek byly PSP proteiny detekovány v tkáňových extraktech a v sekreční tkáni cauda epididymis, prostaty, semenných vaků a Cowperových žláz. PSP proteiny jsou schopny vázat spermie a byly nalezeny na spermiích z cauda epididymu a na ejakulovaných spermiích. Produkce PSP proteinů nejen semennými vaky a prostatou, ale i epididymem naznačuje jejich určitou roli v epididymální maturaci spermií. Další charakterizace forem proteinů semenné plasmy produkovaných jednotlivými reprodukčními orgány by mohla pomoci objasnit jejich následnou roli v určitých fázích reprodukčního procesu (cs)
