| - The aim of this study was the comparison of measured values of immune parameters obtained in the CESAR study with the ranges derived from other large population-based studies. Data were collected in healthy school children aged 9–11 years in 6 CEE countries in 1996. Blood samples from 495 children were analyzed. Lymphocyte subsets were determined by two-colour flow cytometric method using the lysed whole blood (Becton-Dickinson). Immuno-nephelometric method (Behring Nephelometer system) was used for determination of immunoglobulin concentration in sera. Medians, 5th and 95th percentiles of lymphocyte subsets’ absolute counts (x 109/L), their relative distribution (%) and immunoglobulin levels for IgG, IgM and IgA [g/l] were determined. Based on the size of this study the authors recommend to use the ranges of lymphocyte subsets and immunoglobulin levels determined by this study as reference ranges for Europe.

- Data byla získána ze vzorků krve zdravých školních dětí ve věku 9-11 let ze 6 středo- a východoevropských zemích v roce 1996. Celkem bylo analyzováno 495 dětí. Populace lymfocytů byly měřeny pomocí dvoubarevného značení metodou průtokové cytometrie z plné krve (Becton-Dickinson). Pro stanovení koncentrací imunoglobulinů v séru byla použita metoda imunonefelometrie (nefelometry Behring).Zjišťovány byly mediánové, 5ti a 95ti percentilové hodnoty subpopulací lymfocytů jak v absolutních počtech (x 109/L) tak v jejich relativním zastoupení (%) a koncentrací imunoglobulinů IgG, IgM a IgA. Vzhledem k velikosti vyšetřovaného souboru v této studii doporučují autoři použít naměřené hodnoty rozsahů testovaných parametrů jako referenční hodnoty pro Evropu. (cs)
