Description
  • Magnetic particles based on iron oxides with dimensions ranging from 20-130 nm were prepared by a simple, fast and effective microwave-assisted synthesis. Utilization of microwaves instead of common heating and the reaction setup, such as composition of reaction mixture, use of the pressurized reactor and synthesis temperature enabled reduction of the synthesis time from 12-24 hours to less several minutes and provided high yields. This method allows tailoring the size, morphology and thus magnetic properties of prepared materials what is important for the design of particles for the intended applications.
