Description
| - The method lies in reesterification of fats and oils under alkali conditions and subsequent separation of the biodiesel phase from the glycerin phase. An organic base or a mixture of organic bases is used for the creation of alkali conditions and as catalysts for alcoholysis. A suitable organic base, or bases, is an amine with boiling point at normal pressure up to 200 DEG C, or a mixture of such amines with tetramethylammonium hydroxide. It particularly concerns amines from the group containing isopropylamine, diisopropylamine, diethylamine, n-butylamine and cyclohexylamine. In waste oils and fats containing free fatty acids, especially when the content of free fatty acids exceeds the limit value of acid number, esterification of these acids can be applied with the use of an organic base or a mixture of organic bases.
