Description	The current economic conditions can be characterised as a sequence of permanent changes that affect almost every aspect of the lives of individuals. In the Czech Republic, there have been lengthy, hotly debated changes in taxation. The aim of the present paper is to determine the level of tax literacy of students at Tomas Bata University in Zlín at two non-economics faculties, namely the Faculty of Humanities and the Faculty of Technology. The research focuses on the acceptance or rejection of three given hypotheses concerning the tax literacy of students. The results show that students of non-economics faculties can be considered to be tax literate. This means that they are able to understand tax and payroll, recognise theoretical and practical issues and comprehend major changes affecting the given areas.
