Description
  • This paper explores economic interaction of the three variables: goods on the market, household production and leisure. All three indicators could be understood from the perspective of microeconomic or macroeconomic theory. The financial crisis currently points to the growing trend of household production it means %22Do it yourself%22. These products have the character of grey economy i.e. leaks out of the market place. This development could be derived by decline of the product economy, while each consumer (household) is facing enormous marketing pressure and speed of development of ICT and communication technologies without them many people could already not imagine their life. This trend was assessed on a randomly selected sample of students in bachelor's degree at the Tomas Bata University in Zlín. Each student has their own financial expenses (for market products and leisure) to secure their standard of living. Everything above their personal wealth they must produce themselves or be provided by relatives. Outcome of this work is the incorporation of household production to the classic microeconomic model of the consumers production function between original two variables - work and leisure. Sum up amount of market goods, “Do It Yourself” products and leisure we can determine a minimum financial threshold for the entrance of Czech students to the labour market.
