  • Polyaniline (PANI) in the form of powder has been obtained in two different ways; by oxidative polymerization using ammonium peroxydisulfatein aqueous medium (“standard” synthesis)and by isolation from its chloroform suspension. Investigation comprised both protonated and deprotonated PANI. Structural and morphological differences between two systems were described in relation to how they affect electric properties of each respective system. Dielectric spectroscopy measurement in broad temperature range was used in order to investigate conductivity mechanisms employed. Observed relaxations, including processes related to displacement of hopping charges between their localised states, were described in terms of their temperature dependence and corresponding activation energies were estimated. Temperature dependence of conductivity showed that charge transport takes place via variable range hopping mechanism.
