Description	An overview about recent advances in antimicrobial polymer systems is given. Microwave assisted synthesis was adopted and is used as a facile and versatile method for synthesis of hybrid particles. A strategy of inorganic hierarchically structured antimicrobial fillers application is introduced. This approach is exemplified on Ag/ZnO particular system and its properties are reported.
