  • Title: Application of microwave pressurized reactor in synthesis of magnetic particles In recent time, the interest in preparation of magnetic nanoparticles considerably increased due to their potential application in preparation of advanced magnetic materials as well as numerous medical uses. Hence, many teams introduced various synthetic strategies, mostly solvothermal methods. However, all these methods are relatively time and energy consuming. Here we present rapid and energy saving microwave assisted solvothermal synthesis of magnetic nanoparticles using CEM Mars 5 microwave pressurized system. The use of this method allows us to reduce synthesis time to 30 minutes at 220 °C. The product is obtained with nearly 100 % yield without requirement of further post-treatment. The X-ray diffraction analysis, scanning electron microscopy and magnetic testing show that the as obtained spherical Fe3O4 nanoparticles have uniform and relatively narrow size distribution with average dimensions of 200 nm.
