  • Kompozity na bázi Polystyren/vícevrstvé uhlíkové nanotrubičky byly připraveny mícháním v tavenině na ko-rotačním mikro-hnětiči a metodou srážení polymerních roztoků s disperzí MWCNT míchanými ultrazvukem. Před přípravou byly MWCNT upravovány mikroemulzní polymerační technikou vedoucí k pokrytí povrchu MWCNT nanokuličkami PS o rozměru cca 30nm, pozorováno prostřednictvím SEM. Vliv plniva na makroskopické vlastnosti se více projeví při aplikaci upravených trubiček. Bylo například změřeno zvýšení teploty skelného přechodu, Tg, ve srovnání s matricí PS, a to o 9°C. Také krípová poddajnost se významně posouvá k delším časům, a to v širší teplotní oblasti než jen v oblasti Tg. To vede k zvýšení teplotní odolnosti připravených kompozitů ve srovnání s čistou matricí. (cs)
  • Polystyrene (PS)/multi-wall carbon nanotubes (MWCNT) nanocomposites were prepared by melt mixing in a co-rotating twin screw microcompounder and by coagulation method of PS/MWCNT sonicated dispersion in MEK poured into water. Before mixing and coagulation nanotubes of a commercial type of MWCNT were covered with PS nanospheres by microemulsion polymerization in order to increase their dispersibility and compatibility with composite matrix. Microemulsion polymerization was carried out under sonication in the presence of surfactants (sodium dodecyl sulphate and amyl alcohol) and cross-linking agent (divinylbenzene). The structure of modified MWCNT revealed by SEM microscopy contains ca 30 nm nanospheres partially covering the nanotubes surface. The tensile creep properties of prepared composite were measured and compared with pure PS matrix. The effect of filler is much more pronounced in the case of composite prepared by coagulation. There was found significant increase in glass transition temperature
