  • The aim of this study was to test the stability of the nano-colloidal aqueous dispersions of the commercial available paraffine wax dispersions Mobilcer C (Exxon Mobil). The effect of the pH and ionic strength of the simple electrolytes on stability and coagulation was quantified by means of measuring zeta potential and dynamic light scattering (ZetaPlus, Brookhaven). The isoelectric point was found to range between pH 3.3 to 5.1, size of the dispersed wax particles was ranging from 10 to 140 nm. Finally, the testing coatings of the different types of paper samples were performed (GP-Tinter, Unigraphica) and the influence of the selected processing conditions on final coating mechanical and optical properties were characterized. The optimum technological conditions were found to obtain high quality water and vapor resistant papers suitable for printing and packaging.

  • Cílem této studie bylo testování stability nano-koloidních vodných disperzí komerčně dostupného parafínového vosku Mobilcer C (Exxon Mobil). Efekt pH a iontové síly jednoduchých elektrolytů na stabilitu a koagulaci disperzí byl stanoven pomocí měření zeta potenciálu a dynamického rozptylu světla (ZetaPlus, Brookhaven). Isoelektrický bod byl nalezen v rozmezí pH 3,3 - 5,1 a velikost dispergovaných voskových částic se pohybovala mezi 10 a 140 nm. Na závěr bylo provedeno testovací potahování různých druhů papíru (GP-Tinter, Unigraphica) a byl charakterizován vliv vybraných výrobních podmínek na jejich finálové mechanické a optické vlastnosti. Byly nalezeny optimální technologické podmínky pro získání vysoce kvalitních vodě a parám odolných papírů vhodných pro tisk a obalování. (cs)
