  • In the present study the influence of treatment conditions (annealing temperature) of calcium pyrophosphate (CPP) and kaolinite on wetting behavior in selected liquids was evaluated. Latter materials have significant technological importance in several applications mainly as a filler matrices. Studied CPP was obtained from Prayon, Inc., Augusta Georgia, USA and kaolinite was obtained from Imerys SPS China clay powders. In the case of kaolinite powders, with increasing heating temperature contact angles were decreased, for ethylene glycol and ethanol. Minor decrease was obtained also for water and acetone. In the case of calcium pyrophosphate the similar trends were obtained, except acetone, reflecting in both cases changes of the wettability in direction to more wetting surfaces. In the paper more detail evaluation will be presented, where the effects of surface chemistry and roughness will be stressed.

  • V této práci byl zkoumán vliv teploty žíhání na smáčivost nanoprášků kalcium pyrofosfátu a kaolinitu. Smáčecí vlastnosti byly testovány měřením dynamických kontaktních úhlů několika kapalin na studovaných prášcích použitím Washburnovy adsorpční metody. Z výsledků vyplývá, že v případě kalcium pyrofosfátu se smáčecí vlastnosti téměř nemění dokud teplota žíhání nedosáhne 500°C, při které kontaktní úhly prudce klesají pro všechny testovací kapaliny. Kontaktní úhly u kaolinitu měřené s destilovanou vodou a acetonem zůstávají téměř konstantní pro všechny teploty žíhání, zatím co kontaktní úhly pro ethanol a ethylen glykol průběžně klesají. (cs)
