Description
  • The laser cutting is fast, flexible and cost effective. Lasers are capable of cutting steel, stainless steel, super alloys, copper, aluminum, and brass. They also cut non-metallic materials such as ceramic, quartz, plastic, rubber, wood and certain composite structures. The laser is so fast and so repeatable that it is particularly ideal for high production volumes associated with fully automated or semi-automated tooling applications. Laser ray impinging upon the surface of the cut polymeric plate or film generates heat in the radiated point and path. The solid state polymer melts and vaporizes. There are two steps of heat flow during the cutting process. The first one is melting and vaporizing of the cut material heated straight by laser ray. The other is melting of the walls of the cut, which are heated by the vaporized hot polymeric vapors. In this moment heat flux is generated by laser ray input into the cut material. This heat flux could be calculated from total amount of heat that is needed for
