  • This study presents the forming of magnesium alloys. Magnesium is now becoming the material of choice for many lightweight transport component applications, demonstrated by continued, steady market growth. In the alloyed form, magnesium is the lightest structural metal, thereby providing considerable opportunity to improve fuel economy and reduce harmful emissions produced in powering transport when substituted for a heavier aluminium or steel design.
