Description	The paper discusses the role of some international organizations engaged in preventing smuggling and trafficking of radioactive materials which may include their unauthorized removal, theft, sale, transfer or transport in order to minimize the potential of the use of such substances for the construction of radiological weapon. The attention has been paid to emphasis the importance of introducing strict measures aimed at controlling all powerful radioactive sources at a national level using legislative mechanisms consistent with international standards and recommendations.
