Description
  • Computer studies of nitrogen filled aluminium-oxide capillary discharge are reported. The 2-D computational code Z* is used for computation of plasma quantities. Space time dependences of electron temperature and density, as well as time profiles of the current passing through the capillary are evaluated, for a given electric parameters. Power of water window radiation from the capillary is computed. Optimal pressure of the gas inside the capillary and geometry of capillary for the given electrical parameters are estimated, in order to gain maximal emission of the system in the spectral range known as the ?water window? (2.4-4.4 nm ). It is shown that nitrogen plasma may be intense emitter in this spectral range.
