Description	According to the big changes of landscape in North Bohemia and according to the actual debate about brown coal mining limits, the recultivation of landscape is a very hot topic. And this topic is more closer to the urbanism and architecture than we suppose. On the case study of the “Internationale Bauausstellung IBA“ in Lusitania region (2000–2011) we will show the main aspects of landscape recultivation. The questions are: How should we handle the moon landscapes and open-cast mining sites that were suddenly no longer required? Are we able to bring relevant arguments which will defense invisible as well as visible values of landscape against the energy concepts and economical profits? Is the natural succession better than technological recultivation? And is there any way to learn from more advanced German mining operators?
