Description
  • The exhibition shows the research work of current PhD students of Miloš Florián (ústav stavitelství I) and Henri Achten (kabinet modelového projektování). The common thread in the research work is the application of computational techniques on new materials, production techniques, design methods, processes, and knowledge in architecture. The aim of the research is a spatial simulation of environment development in time, which, based on the requirements of the lower level, would simulate the complexity and the development of the environment, its growth, thickening and reconfiguration. This model spatial simulation would serve as a decision-making tool for architects when applying various alternative scenarios of environment development and thereby it would create a basis for spatial planning decisions in subsequent stages of zoning proceedings. Emergent behavior of urban structure in geometry can be simulated by advanced scripting techniques using multi-agent systems and recursive iterative protocols of the Processing language, taking into account the spatial requirements and rules from the lower level. By visualizing these spatial relations and rules, one could embrace a very complex and comprehensive structural urban configuration of the city's environment. The result of this research shall therefore be a software tool for simulation of spatial development / environment reconfiguration for architects and urban planners that will be serviceable also in the internet environment. This tool can also serve as a creative generative platform for designing urban structure based on simple rules of a lower level, that would, however, consequently simulate the complex and comprehensive urban entirety.
