  • We demonstrated the high factor pulse repetition rate multiplication in synchronously intracavity-pumped ring optical parametrical oscillator (SIROPO). The system consisted of SESAM-modelocked, picosecond, diode pumped Nd:YVO4 laser (pumping power 10 W @ 808 nm), operating at wavelength 1.06 µm and tunable ring parametrical oscillator based on MgO:PPLN crystal. This crystal was placed inside the Nd:YVO4 laser oscillator. The signal wave wavelength of SIROPO was 1.54 µm. The SIROPO output coupler reflectivity at signal wavelength was 89 %. By a mutual detuning of cavity lengths of optical parametrical oscillator and pump laser, quasi-synchronous regime of pumping was achieved and high harmonics of pumping oscillator repetition rate frequencies were generated in SIROPO. The multiplication factor was controlled by the length of parametrical oscillator cavity and scaled up to 26. The corresponding SIROPO pulse repetition rate was scalable from 80.82 MHz to 2.12 GHz. For the maximal obtained repetition rate the output SIROPO power was 26 mW @ 1.54 µm. By an appropriate selection of multiplication factor the effective SIROPO out-coupling could be controlled and optimized. The change of the multiplication factor had also influence on the coupling between both cavities. It was observed, that the increase of multiplication factor could lead to the improvement of overall laser system stability. This could be a method to determine the optimal reflectivity of output mirror of optical parametrical oscillator from point of view of the overall system stability and optimal maximal power. Maximal achieved stable output power 57 mW was reached for multiplication factor of 12 (corresponding repetition frequency 973.3 MHz). By increasing of SIROPO output coupler reflectivity it will be possible to optimize the output power for higher multiplication factors. Such system can be useful for applications like pump-probe spectroscopy or for telecommunication systems testing.
