Description
  • Dynamic loading is a crucial stimulus for bone remodeling. This is exactly the case of frequently used vibration plates, which performs only small movements in vertical direction. Walking (frequency approx. 1Hz) generate the dynamic strains in the range 3000-5000 microstrains per second. Using this knowledge we estimate the levels of dynamic strains occurring during usage of vibration plates (30Hz) to be approx. 10 times higher. The applied model predicts that 10 minutes, 2 times per day for 6 months is too vigorous for body (femur) and can cause the fatigue of bone tissue. From the simulation follows that every day exercise may last at most 3 months.
