| - Since 2002, the postal audit in dental radiography has been supplementing standard quality control (QC) tools for dental intraoral X-ray machines. An aim of the audit is to check basic X-ray machine parameters (field size, exposure reproducibility), and a quality of the whole process of diagnostic imaging (entrance surface air kerma measurement, a check of film processing, and an image quality evaluation). The standard QC tests, performed by private companies, check mainly the X-ray unit. Over against, the audit gives better information about a practice how patients are examined. During a period of I.2002 - V.2004 about 4000 audits were performed. The results have confirmed well-known fact that the main problems in the dental radiography are connected with incorrect film processing, non-optimized setting of the exposure parameters and use of obsolete X-ray machines. Only ~30% of performed audits were satisfactory in all checked parameters.

- Od roku 2002 je korespondenční audit v dentální radiodiagnostice jednou z kontrol v rámci QC programu u zubních intraorálních rentgenových přístrojů. Pomocí auditu jsou kontrolovány hlavní parametry rentgenu (velikost pole, reprodukovatelnost expozic) a kvalita zobrazovacího procesu (měření kermy ve vzduchu na konci tubusu, kontrola zpracování filmů a kvality obrazu) Standardní QC testy, prováděné soukromými firmami jsou zaměřené hlavně na kontrolu přístroje. Naopak pomocí auditu lze získat informaci, jakým způsobem jsou z hlediska radiační ochrany vyšetřováni pacienti. V období I. 2002 - V. 2004 bylo provedeno kolem 4000 auditů. Výsledky potvrdily, že problémy týkající se radiační ochrany v dentální radiodiagnostice jsou způsobeny hlavně nesprávným zpracováním filmů, neoptimalizovaným průběhem vyšetření a používáním starých rtg přístrojů. Pouze 30% provedených auditů mělo vyhovující výsledek. (cs)
