Description	Research-orientated universities are generally prepared for the trend toward complex and sophisticated technologies. Integrating MSc and PhD students into research groups, project orientated education, student research projects, various competitions and prizes for student research papers and theses, etc., help to bring engineering education closer to the needs of real life. The experience of CTU in Prague gives evidence of the significant effect of a proper ratio between %22classical%22 university educationand research work done by students, especially if the research work is carried out on some real problem from industrial practice.
