Description
  • At the Czech Technical University in Prague Faculty of Transportation Sciences there takes place the project orientated teaching since academic year 1995 – 1996 such as new form of finishing the master study programme. On initiative of tutors from the Institute of Transport Planning & Traffic Engineering, lead by experienced professor Knoflacher, is annually organized international MEPS – Middle European Project Seminar for students from the Czech Technical University in Prague, Vienna University of Technology and Budapest University of Technology and Economics. Representatives of town from giving country in co-operation with traffic experts and companies prepare various tasks for students, referring to general traffic solution of town, traffic safety or solutions of some places such as cross-roads, crossings, ... etc. The students, working divided to the groups, put together from all three nations, can train and improve their knowledge of foreign language and get experience in various methods of work used abroad. The most important part of these seminars is presentation for representatives of town’s municipality, experts and also press and regional television, where every student group exhibits graphic results of their work and defends their new proposal of solution of assigned task. After experience with seminars passed during several last years, the main goal is to prepare and to realize next MEPS (Middle European Project Seminar), organized by the Czech Technical University in Prague Faculty of Transportation Sciences in selected town in Czech Republic in 2014, and that to verify possibilities of common work of groups, put together from undergraduates of all participated universities, on particular practical problems.
