Description
| - In the Czech Republic runs a very intensive process of liberalization of passenger transport services on rail. On the one side there is a controlled market opening process of public services - competing single lines of long-distance transport, on the other side uncontrolled process of free competition. In the Czech Republic, there is besides to public services on the railway fully liberal approach to infrastructure – Open Access without any restrictions. In connection with the opening of the market ordered rail services by the longdistance and regional rail transport, there is a major theme of the position and competitiveness of the national rail carrier (TOC). The way in which the national carrier (in our case České dráhy, a.s.) could compete on the opened market, it is already possible partially to estimate on a comparison of data on its productivity. This article focuses on the comparison of certain indicators of productivity and efficiency of selected TOC´s in Europe.
